Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Utility Bangla Studio handles information when you use the Hanafi Prayer Times Android application, package name com.bangla.hanafiprayer (the “App”).

By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information the App accesses or processes

Location information

If you select automatic location and grant location permission, the App requests your current or recently available approximate or precise location. This may include:

• Latitude and longitude;
• City, district, or locality;
• Country name and country code;
• Your device time zone; and
• Whether the location was selected automatically or manually.

The App uses this information to calculate local prayer times and the Qibla direction. The selected location is stored in the App's private storage on your device so that you do not need to select it every time you open the App.

Hanafi Prayer Times does not request background-location permission and does not continuously track your location. Automatic location is requested only when you use the location-selection feature.

You can avoid granting location permission by selecting your district and area manually. You can also revoke location permission at any time through Android Settings.

Compass and motion sensor information

The Qibla compass uses your device's rotation-vector sensor or, where needed, its accelerometer and magnetic-field sensor. Sensor readings are processed temporarily on your device to display the compass. Hanafi Prayer Times does not save these sensor readings or transmit them to our servers.

App settings and feature preferences

The App stores the following information locally on your device:

• Whether onboarding has been completed;
• Your selected location and time zone;
• Prayer notification, Adhan, and Do Not Disturb preferences;
• Scheduled prayer alarms and pending automation information;
• Temporary Do Not Disturb state information; and
• Hijri date correction information.

These settings are used only to provide the App's functions, restore your preferences, schedule prayer alerts, and resume scheduled features after a device restart or time-zone change.

Hijri date synchronization

When an internet connection is available, the App may send a Gregorian calendar date to the AlAdhan API at api.aladhan.com to obtain a corresponding Hijri date. The App does not include your saved latitude, longitude, city, name, email address, or advertising identifier in this request.

Like any internet service, the AlAdhan service and its hosting providers may automatically receive technical request information, such as your IP address, request time, and basic request headers. Their handling and retention of this information are controlled by their own practices.

2. How information is used

The App processes information for the following purposes:

• Calculating prayer times for your selected location;
• Showing the direction of the Qibla;
• Displaying your selected city or area;
• Showing the Gregorian and Hijri dates;
• Scheduling prayer notifications and playing the Adhan;
• Activating Do Not Disturb during prayer periods when you explicitly enable this feature and grant the required system access;
• Saving and restoring your choices; and
• Maintaining the reliability and security of the App.

4. Android backup

The App permits Android's backup feature. Depending on your device, Android version, Google Account, and backup settings, locally stored App data—including your selected location and preferences—may be backed up to a private area associated with your Google Account or transferred to a new device.

These backups are managed by Android and Google rather than by us. You can manage device backup through your Android or Google Account settings.

5. Permissions and system access

The App may request or use the following Android permissions:

• Approximate and precise location: used only when you choose automatic location.
• Notifications: used to display prayer reminders and Adhan playback information.
• Exact alarms: used to deliver prayer reminders at the selected times.
• Do Not Disturb access: used only when you enable the prayer-time Do Not Disturb feature.
• Internet and network state: used for Hijri date synchronization and checking whether a network connection is available.
• Foreground service, wake lock, and boot completed: used to play the Adhan reliably and restore scheduled prayer features following a device restart, clock change, or time-zone change.

You can manage permissions through Android Settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but you can continue using features that do not require that permission.

6. Advertising, analytics, and sale of data

The current version of Hanafi Prayer Times:

• Does not contain third-party advertising;
• Does not use advertising identifiers;
• Does not use analytics or behavioral-tracking SDKs;
• Does not require registration or a user account;
• Does not sell or rent personal information; and
• Does not use personal information for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.

7. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not operate an App backend that receives your saved location or preferences. Information may nevertheless be processed by the third-party and system services described above when necessary to provide the requested feature.

We may disclose information if required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or to protect users, the public, or our legal rights. Because most App information remains on your device and is not available to us, we may have no information to provide in response to such a request.

8. Data retention and deletion

Location information and App preferences stored on your device remain there until you replace them, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App.

You can delete locally stored App data by:

• Opening Android Settings, selecting Hanafi Prayer Times, and clearing its storage or data; or
• Uninstalling Hanafi Prayer Times.

Data contained in an Android cloud backup may remain according to your Android and Google backup settings and Google's retention practices. Information automatically logged by third-party services is retained according to those providers' policies.

Hanafi Prayer Times does not create user accounts, so there is no separate account-deletion procedure.

9. Data security

Local App information is stored within Android's private application storage. Network communication with the AlAdhan API uses HTTPS. Android backups and location services are protected according to the security measures applied by Android, Google, and the relevant device provider.

No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's privacy

Hanafi Prayer Times is a general-audience prayer utility and is not designed to request a child's name, contact details, account information, or advertising identifier. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated servers.

Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal information directly to us may contact us using the information below.

11. International processing

Third-party services used by the App may process technical information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is governed by their respective privacy practices and applicable laws.

12. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have privacy rights regarding your personal information. You can exercise practical control over App data by:

• Selecting a location manually instead of using device location;
• Revoking location or notification permission;
• Disabling exact alarms or Do Not Disturb access;
• Changing your selected location and prayer preferences;
• Clearing the App's storage;
• Managing Android or Google backup settings; or
• Uninstalling the App.

Because we do not operate user accounts or receive the App's locally stored data, we generally cannot access, export, correct, or delete that data remotely.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's functionality, data practices, third-party services, or legal obligations change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
